What is a teknopark in Türkiye?

A teknopark is a Turkish technology development zone. Companies operating inside one pay no corporate tax on profits from software developed there.

ExemptionsCorporate tax exemption on qualifying software profits, 100% income tax exemption on personnel salaries until 31 December 2028 capped at 40 times the gross minimum wage, and the state covering half the employer social security contribution for R&D staff source

What it means in practice

The exemption attaches to work actually done inside the zone, so revenue from activity carried out elsewhere does not qualify. It is the route most small studios take, because R&D centre status requires fifteen full-time research staff and teknopark status does not. Companies whose exemptions pass 2 million lira a year also pick up the 3% venture capital obligation.

Who it applies to

Companies with an office inside a designated zone doing genuine software or R&D work there.
