Apple's App Store commission in 2026, tier by tier
Apple's standard commission is 30% of what the customer pays, falling to 25% for standard in-app purchase and paid app transactions from 1 October 2026. Developers earning up to $1 million a year pay 15% under the Small Business Program, and subscriptions drop to 15% after a customer's first paid year.
Türkiye refunds half of what a software company or game studio spends on advertising, app store commissions and hosting when it sells to customers abroad, and up to 70% when those customers are in one of twenty target markets. Platform and app store commissions are a supported item at 50%, capped at 20 000 000 ₺ ≈ $417,537 a year for up to ten products. On this example the store keeps $150,000 of your revenue rather than $300,000.
03What else should you know about Apple App Store?
- The Small Business Program threshold is measured on the prior calendar year, and once you pass $1 million in the current year the standard rate applies to later sales.
- Falling back under $1 million lets you re-qualify, but only from the year after.
- The subscription drop to 15% counts a customer's paid year, not your app's age, so it arrives customer by customer rather than all at once.
- The commission is charged on the price the customer pays, which includes tax in many markets, so the fee is calculated on a larger number than your net revenue.

What Türkiye would pay back on your spending
Türkiye runs a government programme that refunds part of what a software company or game studio spends on reaching customers abroad. It covers advertising, app store and platform commissions, and hosting. The refund is paid in cash against invoices the company has already settled, so it does not depend on the company making a profit. The standard rate is 50%, and it rises to 70% when the customers being targeted are in one of the twenty countries on the Turkish Ministry of Trade's target list.

Is the drop to 25% automatic?
It applies to standard in-app purchase and paid app transactions from 1 October 2026 under Apple's terms. Reduced rates such as the Small Business Program sit below it and are unaffected.
Does the Small Business Program cover subscriptions?
Yes, at 15%, and on the EU alternative terms a further reduced 10% applies to subscriptions after their first year.
Can the commission be reimbursed?
Under the Turkish export incentive it is a supported item at 50%, subject to the annual cap. The claim is made by a Turkish company that holds the developer relationship and pays the fees.
